In the form of a triptych, Time House places the viewer in the centre of a suburban cottage that combines imagination and reality, and through the artist's usual visual division, three different viewing perspectives - left, centre and right - are juxtaposed to create a sense of calm and interconnectedness. The small windows and doors show the three different seasons and vegetation, and the movement of the sun's position, all suggesting the change of time in the three perspectives within the house. The artist does not depict any of the figures, but the wine barrels, pool table, livestock, potted plants and comfort chairs become metaphorical expressions of pleasure, indulgence, toil, pain, peace and finally a desire for rebirth.
