”——也许是遐想的开始，在‘见闻录’这一系列画中，双引号作为当代话语权的直观符号，慢慢开放了一个容人质疑的空间。

整个系列画的灵感来源于创作者从三月份开始收录的微博辟谣信息。在2020年这个特殊的时期，网络世界里充斥的 “@ ：？！”以及符号联结的话语内容，不断涌入创作者的视线。信息的内容最早还是一些治疗的偏方，但当疫情愈演愈烈，感染、治疗和预防疫情的谣言变得越来越离奇，出现了所谓的“5G感染病例”、“眼神传播”和“鞭炮治愈”的讯息，网络世界中铺天盖地都是“辟谣”的字眼。创作者试图思考这一网络环形监狱中信息对公众视线的捆绑和信任的索取，以及观察在这一环境下的无知者和止谣人。

网络信息符号带有的话语权利，让“辟谣”本身也有了谣言色彩，致使我们时常无法分清真相在引号的哪一边。那么在展览符号帽子下的“见闻录”，会成为创作者构思的一场骗局吗？”

“—Perhaps this marks the beginning of reverie. In the series Records of Contemplation, quotation marks—an intuitive emblem of contemporary discourse—gradually open a space that accommodates doubt.

The entire series draws inspiration from misinformation debunked on Weibo, collected by the artist since March. In this extraordinary year of 2020, the online world overflowed with fragments of discourse bound together by symbols such as ‘@’, ‘:’, and ‘?!’, streaming endlessly into the artist’s gaze. At first, these messages were little more than folk remedies. But as the pandemic worsened, rumors about infection, treatment, and prevention became increasingly outlandish: so-called ‘5G-related infections,’ ‘contagion through eye contact,’ and even claims that ‘firecrackers could cure the disease.’ The word ‘debunking’ flooded the internet like an unstoppable tide.

The artist seeks to reflect on how information—within this online panopticon—both binds the public gaze and demands trust, while also observing the ignorant and the rumor-stoppers inhabiting this space.

The authority inscribed in these symbols of online discourse lends the act of ‘debunking’ a hint of rumor itself, leaving us unable to discern on which side of the quotation marks truth actually resides. Under the symbolic canopy of this exhibition, will Records of Contemplation itself become a conceptual snare devised by the artist?”
